Review by Hawk Chavez
I am honoured to finally get the chance to listen to this Southern California band. The only time that I have heard of their music is hearing “How Bad” on the Stanley Cup NFL, and hearing that track sold me on the rest of what they had to offer music fans. Starting out calmly with distorted synths, like distorted emergency signals, but quickly accelerating to rebellious drums and gritty guitars; blending with Hartman’s vocals.
“Story” sounds like a soundtrack to a mystical drama story about to begin, with Jordan’s and Baca’s heavy pausing guitars and bass and Oliver’s subtle keyboards. Hartman’s vocal amazes me, such clarity; listeners will get sucked into whatever he is telling through his music. Nevertheless, the band does know how to kick it down and show their softer side of Hard Rock with “GMA - Good Morning Again” and “Moment”. “Good Morning Again” is the quintessential love song. On the track “Contain It” as a distinctly channelling appearance of 10 Second Drop and Black Stone Cherry; fiery guitars, bass and vigorous drums it works well to get the energy levels pumped.
